Three's A Charm
We are very happy to announce that Sleepy Hollow Loft has produced another Hall Of Fame Winner for 2007. In the past three out of four years our breeders have produced 3 Hall Of Fame Winners for different handlers in different parts of the USA. We feel this is quite an accomplishment due to the fact that there are not many TDM bred pigeons in competition and yet the few prove themselves to be among the best the sport has to offer. We credit this accomplishment to one of the Masters and Legends of the sport Staf Van Reet of Mol Belgium. Since the introduction of his pigeons to our loft we immediately began to produce top racers capable of winning 1st prize against the very best competition. Our 1st Hall of fame winner was Flown by Manny Parada of New York winning 4 X's 1st as a yearling in the 2004 old bird series. This hen was a grand daughter of Staf Van Reet's 8 X Champion "Favorie". The 2nd was the AU 5th Place HOF Winner for Jay Holder of Florida in the 2005 old bird series. This cock is a direct son of "Wolf" a half brother to Favorie. This 2007's IF 2nd place Hall of Fame Winner for Mike & Fay Schaefer and Bill Tadlock of Crofton Maryland is a double grand daughter of Staf Van Reet's 10 X Champion "Den Don". All three of these champion breeders were bred by Staf Van Reet and are direct sons of Grote Tom. Staf has proclaimed Grote Tom to be his top producer of his entire career. Hatched in 1989, he quickly proved to be the top producer siring generations of champion racers and breeders world wide including BELG-6147141/03 The sire to the 2005 Shanghai Special Band Winner vs. 13,618 @ 600K.. It is also a pleasure to note that in 2007 the team of Van Reet / Vermeerbergen won 2nd and 10th place National Argenton vs 31.979 pigeons in competition. For over 30 years the pigeons of Staf Van Reet have dominated the sport and continue to do so today both abroad and in the USA. The world renowned Piet DeWeerdt once said that The Van Reet pigeons are the fastest and most intelligent in the world. Staf having the fastest pigeon in the province more than 22 times vs. over 100,000 pigeons is testament to that. Staf Van Reet's pigeons have made an impact in many lofts around the world including the famous loft of Jan Grondelaers. Jan had purchased many pigeons from Staf over the years but none as famous as the 32 X 1st place winner "Prins", sire to Jan's famous Suka. Prins is a brother to Daniel 57 X's 1st and Dikki Prinz 26 X's 1st.
Once again here in the USA they have been true to form producing the top racers in both the IF and AU organizations. Our many thanks to those handlers who believed my words and took the time to add these Staf Van Reet pigeons to their racing team. There is no better test of a good racing pigeon than to be raced week after week, season after season. The cream always comes to the top as they say.
